Biosketch

My research program focuses on the prevention, pathogenesis, and complications of hepatic and intestinal fibrosis. Related to the objectives of the CNS/WH, we are interested in (1) the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying the functional symptoms associated with chronic liver disease, including hepatitis C and nonalcoholic fatty liver (NASH), and (2) the mechanisms underlying the female predominance of NASH.
