Biosketch

Steven Tan is one of few physicians in the United States to obtain medical degrees and board certifications in both conventional western medicine and traditional Chinese medicine. His clinical work focuses on treating chronic illness and pain, stress related disorders, functional somatic syndromes, as well as applying CAM modalities to conventional treatments for other medical conditions such as cancer and HIV. His research interests include elucidating physiological mechanisms behind integrative modalities, developing clinical trials employing complementary and alternative modalities and applying modern science to bridge the gap between western and eastern medicines.
